Georgia Tech is very challenging academically—and sometimes you just need a break. Being an Alpha Chi gives you the opportunity to explore the city with sisters and friends in order to experience things you might never have on your own. Going to events together also allows for group discounts, which greatly decreases the cost of entertainment and recreation in the Atlanta area. None of these events are mandatory, but the majority of the chapter always participates. After all, they are a great way to relax after a hard week of school.

Date Nights

Don’t let the name fool you—date nights are far from traditional dates. A few times each semester, sisters have the opportunity to grab a date, a friend, or even another Alpha Chi, and experience one of the many exciting things to do in Atlanta. Past date nights have included Braves and Hawks games, corn mazes, ice-skating, and motocross. Date nights are great ways to get off campus and see the city while spending time with your sisters and friends outside of Alpha Chi.

Mixers

We typically have two to three mixers each semester. These events are co-hosted with another fraternity or sorority and are located either on campus or at one of the many nearby venues in Atlanta. They provide an opportunity to meet new friends from another Greek organization and are typically themed—so be ready to dress up. Past themes have included “Down on the Farm”, “You-Tube”, and “All the Single Ladies.”

Formal and Semi-Formal

Sisters enjoy a semi-formal during the fall semester and a formal during the spring semester. Highlights of these events include formally introducing the newest pledge class and giving out awards to sisters who have done phenomenal things for Alpha Chi. We hold these events at venues such as the Fox Theatre and Paris on Ponce.

Sisterhood Events

Sisterhood events can range anywhere from a movie night in the Media Room to tubing down the Chattahoochee River. These are an opportunity to spend time together as a chapter—that means sisters only!

Special Events

In addition to the typical events we have each semester, we have also had Mother/Daughter Luncheons, Father/Daughter Baseball Games, Six Flags weekends, Spring Break cruises, and summer concerts. Annual special events include Christmas Party, right before Winter Break, and Senior Party, held at the end of spring semester in order to bid our graduating seniors adieu.
